5 TIME MANAGEMENT TIPS FOR EVERY MOM
Everything is all in one place and I can’t get away lol.
Work family and school are STILL all jumbled together and mama needs some help. If that’s you too I feel you and in an effort to assist with taking just a little stress out of your life and create more time for yourself, family and fun I’ve come up with these 5 tips for time management for every mom.
HAPPY valentine’s day:
Children are such a perfect reminder, especially during this time, to STOP, ENJOY AND LIVE!
So on this Valentine’s Day, I challenge you all to love hard on one another today and everyday.
Take a moment for yourself today.
Give folks their flowers while they can smell them!
Text a friend or family member and tell them why you love them.
It seems small, but in these times of isolation it can mean the world.
diy valentine’s day:
daycare edition
So it’s started. Valentine’s Day grams are a thing even at daycare!
When I think of Valentine’s Day I think love, romance, and flowers, lots and lots of flowers. While we think of this as an adults holiday I would be totally remiss to ignore all those years of exchanging Valentine’s grams in grade school. I absolutely remember getting my first valentine in fourth grade. And let me tell u as the new girl at a new school that meant a lot.
potty training
For all those preparing, in the throes of potty training or just curious about the process, let me just start with this-
potty training is definitely a marathon and not a race.
However, I have seen some pretty amazing stories of people potty training their kid over a 3-day weekend. This is not that story lol.
After Kinsley’s 12-month checkup, her pediatrician recommended we start to introduce the potty. Now I know what you’re thinking because I was thinking the same thing lol. Kinsley can’t even walk yet and you want her to start potty training?! That actually wasn’t what she said, but that’s what I heard lol. Anyway, she asked us to go and buy a potty, sit it next to ours and start to introduce the idea of what the potty is and how it works. She said it would create a natural interest in the activity of going to the potty because at that stage babies start to put two and two together on how things work, like cause and effect. Mommy goes and sits down on that big white thing and then I hear a tinkle and then a flush. Hmmmm what’s that about?
how has your style changed since quarantine?
2020 was definitely the year of leggings and sweats! Loungewear took OVER as everyone opted to be more comfortable while working from or being home. I almost feel like I’ve forgotten how to get dressed up a little.
When asked, has your style changed since being in quarantine, most would say it has because we all live in loungewear and comfortable clothes now. But I would say mine reverted. Growing up as an athlete since age 6, I lived in sweats, sneakers and flip flops. It wasn’t until I had to become an adult and go to work that I had to doll up my look. So that meant waking up earlier to get myself together. Now don’t get me wrong I love a good fashion moment, but I must say I am most comfortable in my lounge sets and sneakers and I’ve always been.
let’s talk edges
Have a baby they said. It will be fun they said.
What they didn’t tell you is little man or sis would snatch those edges right on out lol. Rude right?!
Along with some of the other unflattering and not so fun changes your body makes when having a baby and after, is postpartum hair loss.
So let’s get started…
In a nutshell postpartum hair loss occurs for new moms due to the vast increase in estrogen levels. The part that I find most rude is how beautiful and full your hair looks during pregnancy and then you transition to postpartum hair looking ragged and thin.
new year, new vision
Happy New Year!
2020 is over, thank God!
The heavily anticipated and much needed new year is finally here and like most years it time to kick it off with a resolution or two.
With every new year come the obligatory New Years resolutions. But this year hits different. We all desperately wanted to leave 2020 behind us for so many painful reasons. Along with the pain, for me 2020 was eye opening. It was a year of so much growth personally, spiritually and professionally. I really took a leap of faith during a time of so much uncertainty. The painful reality of the pandemic was a slap in the face and caused me to readjust what I was holding most important. The order of my life was so backwards and the shelter in place caused me to step back and revaluate my values.
my holiday secret weapon
The holidays for me are all about celebrating time together with loved ones, bringing joy to others and of course it’s the season of giving. I really get excited for all thing’s holidays, from the Christmas movies, to the hot chocolate and gingerbread houses to of course decorating the tree. I get really into it.
In prepping for Christmas day, I enjoy decorating the house as it gives us a feeling of extreme coziness. I truly enjoy placing each ornament and stocking, and gift wrapping, weird I know, but I meticulously take my time to wrap each gift. My family will bring their gifts into the room and leave me to get after it. I’m talking bows, ribbon and of course creased edges lol. Even though they end up just ripping everything open, I love every minute of the preparation, placing them under the tree and then watching them go at it. One of my favorite personalized touches has also become my secret weapon and a family favorite. It is personalized gift-wrapping paper by Gift Wrap My Face. It’s so fun and something different with your face on it.
thankful
Thankfulness.
These days I am truly more thankful.
Thankful for my family.
Thankful for my life.
Thankful for fresh air.
Thankful for my job.
In these trying times we really can see and feel our blessings. I am naturally a very thankful person, often times taking a moment to just cry and reflect on how blessed I really am. With the state of our country and the world, I am truly thankful this season that as a family we were able to still safely cultivate memories and fun experiences for Kinsley.
major keys for a themed party
I live for a good party and since having a baby, kiddie parties are my favorite. Kinsley’s “One Love” first birthday party was so fun to plan and once she turned 18 months or so, I had already started thinking of plans for her second birthday party. On top of that, now with Corona Renee looming in the air, it was uncertain whether we would be able to gather, because it certainly wouldn’t be a “normal” party. What is normal anymore anyway? So when we got the green light I knew it had to be fun and special.
Being true to my own tomboy style, I came up with “Just Two It”, a play on Nike’s infamous “Just Do It” slogan. It was perfect. A fun excuse to dress in theme, but still be comfortable as that is key at any kid’s party as there is always a lot of running around. For me planning in general, but more specifically planning events comes natural. I am quite aware that is not true for many, so here are my MAJOR KEYS to consider when planning a kiddie party.
the Winter collection is coming
Mommyin’: the art of multitasking as an everyday superhero finding balance between family, friends and career all the while keeping dem babies alive.
This collection is very important to me! In coming into the world of motherhood, exhausted, sleep deprived and stressed were the words used over and over to describe my new role. And they weren’t lying lol.
After giving birth and experiencing life as a new mama, I realized all those words were true, but even in the midst of sleep deprivation, I still had a healthy and happy baby and I discovered my superpower. So I took back the power in those words and decided to create my own cape.
kinsley lately:
22 months
Sis is almost 2! Can we believe it?!
The last update I did on Kinsley was at 20 months (here), and believe or not in just two short months soooo much has changed. This could be due in part to us moving to Aruba for a short while lol, but nonetheless the girl is growing too fast.
my favorite:
Travel Stroller
On the go and often traveling with our daughter in tow we needed to make some changes to our heaviest luggage item, our stroller.
We had been using the UPPABaby Vista as an everyday stroller since Kinsley was born, but as she has gotten bigger and more agile, I need my hands free in case I need to chase a toddler on the loose at any moment. Being able to seamlessly get through the airport, onto a train or out and about was getting more difficult as she grew and added weight to an already bulkier stroller. We needed something durable, lightweight, compact and manageable in tight spaces. Having traveled all over the world with Kinsley in the UPPAbaby Vista and watching the airline staff man handle our thousand dollar stroller after gate checking, I knew we needed something we could manage on the plane. I also wanted something less cumbersome now that we have moved out of the infant stage.
Baby’s First passport
Gary and I love to travel. Over the years we have bonded through our travel experiences and we fell in love with seeing the world together. Knowing us to be globe trotters, when we became pregnant, the number one thing we heard was, “uh I guess no more traveling for you guys!”
We knew we were not going to shelter our baby from one of our favorite things, travel! It was important to both of us to continue to travel when our baby arrived, so he or she could see the world through different eyes, taste the food from different countries, and respect the varying cultures and customs around the world.
we out… why we left during a pandemic
According to the Pew Research Center, one in five Americans have relocated due to the pandemic or know someone who has. For us we decided to leave the U.S. to get away from a few things.
The pandemic has not only taken lives, but has also left behind chaos. We are in a pandemic in health, but also for humanity, not to mention there are natural disasters flying at us left and right.
I was sick of it, so I packed up my family and we left.
For those that think we’re crazy to fly away during these times, I understand your concern. But allow me to give you some perspective. From my personal experience, I have found that there has actually been more people in the grocery store than the airport and that doesn’t keep me from getting my groceries.
back to school, or nah?
We are officially in back to school season. Or are we?
Last week we talked about choosing a daycare and all that entails. Trust, diversity and the learning environment were our most important factors, but Corona Renee has added another layer of worry for us parents. Discussing this process made me wonder, what are all the other parents out there doing about schools re-opening, remaining closed and the inevitable continuation of distant learning? For those with pre-school age children are you sending them back to their at home daycares or daycare facilities? I know this is a touchy subject and everyone has an opinion! But this is our reality.
Let’s talk daycare
New baby, new responsibilities- one being daycare! Everyone does not all have the ability to continue staying home with their baby once their maternity/paternity leave ends. You also might not have a grandparent or family member who can commit to staying home full time with your kiddo. This was the case for me.
When Kinsley was four months old, she started daycare full-time. Unfortunately, I felt it was too young to leave my new precious baby, but I had to return to work. Maternity leave was over. 18-ish weeks old and I had to hand her over, go to work and actually function without worrying sick about my baby
DIY:
closet renovation
Some of you may have seen the sneak peaks on Instagram of the closet my husband built for me and I am so excited to share my very own walk-in closet. I will definitely still make a few more tweaks, but I am so happy with what we did with this space. Wait until you see the transformation!
It’s pretty amazing what you can do with some wood, creativity and patience.

BABY SKIN AND MY SECRET WEAPON
Not to toot her horn, but my baby’s skin is beautiful! Soft, smooth and sultry.
My play mom gave me the secret long before I had Kinsley and I knew once I had kids it would be my go-to. And it is. SO, what is it already?
