How has your style changed since quarantine?

2020 was definitely the year of leggings and sweats! Loungewear took OVER as everyone opted to be more comfortable while working from or being home. I almost feel like I’ve forgotten how to get dressed up a little.

When asked, has your style changed since being in quarantine, most would say it has because we all live in loungewear and comfortable clothes now. But I would say mine reverted. Growing up as an athlete since age 6, I lived in sweats, sneakers and flip flops. It wasn’t until I had to become an adult and go to work that I had to doll up my look. So that meant waking up earlier to get myself together. Now don’t get me wrong I love a good fashion moment, but I must say I am most comfortable in my lounge sets and sneakers and I’ve always been.

Now living in my lounge sets I am back to my old self. Also please don’t confuse living in sweats as looking raggedy either. You can still brush your hair and look cute in a lounge set lol. I do miss dressing up from time to time, but at this point I really need to relearn how to walk in heels. My husband took me to dinner for date night a few weeks back (when restaurants were open in Cali) and after 15 minutes of waiting for our table, my feet were killing me in BOOTIES! I have also come to appreciate the time and effort it takes to put myself together. I think my husband has too lol. Seeing me in sweats every day is fine, but on the rare chance now that we go sit outside somewhere to eat and I throw on some makeup, I can see that little glimmer in his eye, like ok girl!

I have always found ways to be incorporate my tomboy style into more feminine pieces as time has progressed, but now I feel like I can get away with even more. My new “going out uniform” is sneakers, a cute jogger set, some hoop earrings and a fun lip.

Just like life there’s always a balance.

How do you find your style has changed this past year?

Love ya, Mean it
