My Favorite Travel Stroller
On the go and often traveling with our daughter in tow we needed to make some changes to our heaviest luggage item, our stroller.
We had been using the UPPABaby Vista as an everyday stroller since Kinsley was born, but as she has gotten bigger and more agile, I need my hands free in case I need to chase a toddler on the loose at any moment. Being able to seamlessly get through the airport, onto a train or out and about was getting more difficult as she grew and added weight to an already bulkier stroller. We needed something durable, lightweight, compact and manageable in tight spaces. Having traveled all over the world with Kinsley in the UPPAbaby Vista and watching the airline staff man handle our thousand dollar stroller after gate checking, I knew we needed something we could manage on the plane. I also wanted something less cumbersome now that we have moved out of the infant stage.
So my husband starting researching the best stroller for us keeping in mind these 3 key factors- weight, portability and cost. Unlike our everyday stroller, the UppaBaby Vista, we needed a stroller we could carry on board flights, something light and within the size regulations for the smaller aircrafts in places like Europe. After a few hours of research and a trip the BUYBUYBABY we tested some options and the Babyzen YOYO2 won.
Pros:
Stylish- Lightweight with 9 color options and 2 base color options, it offers style without losing its functionality.
Convenience- I use the storage zipped back pocket for my loose items I want to keep close like my phone, keys and air pods.
Accessibility- The stroller folds up and you can sling it over your shoulder. You can also open your stroller in seconds with one hand!
Compact- At only 13ish pounds and I don’t have to gate check it and it can fold into the overhead compartment of an airplane.
Durability- We have personally tested the wheels on different terrain from pavement to sand.
Storage- Storing our stroller at home has been made so easy with the compact fold up capabilities. We also are allotted more space in our trunk now that our stroller doesn’t not take up a lot of space.
Newborn and car seat attachment compatibility- This is one of my favorite features of any stroller as they have become more and more pricey they are investment pieces and grow with your child from infancy to age 5 or 6.
Cons:
Cost- As with anything more frills equal more mullah.
Space- The undercarriage is small and although it holds up to 40 pounds worth of stuff, the space is tight. I can’t hold larger items in the basket, even my diaper bag.
Extra Costs- Accessories such as the footrest are an extra added accessory therefore an additional cost.
Settings- The recline is either all the way up or all the way back and I wish there was an in between.
Having traveled with the YOYO2 now that Kinsley is almost 2, we absolutely love it. I wish I could transform the undercarriage area to hold more, but maybe this will inspire me to travel with less loose items. If I were to give it a grade, it’s an A for me .
