DIY Walk-In Closet

Some of you may have seen the sneak peaks on Instagram of the closet my husband built for me and I am so excited to share my very own walk-in closet. I will definitely still make a few more tweaks, but I am so happy with what we did with this space. Wait until you see the transformation!

It’s pretty amazing what you can do with some wood, creativity and patience.

Gary discovered this space under the staircase by accident and the rest is history!

Gary put in insulation, electrical, flooring and handled the painting.

The entire process took about 2.5 weeks to build and several trips to Ikea and Home Depot.

Don’t worry Gary didn’t just do the manual labor all by his lonesome, I also entertained him in the process.

We all got in on the fun drilling, assembling and organizing. Good times!

This is the first time in 8 years I haven’t had to take into consideration my husband’s taste when decorating. I am definitely going to girl it up a little more, but for right now it’s a vibe!

I’m thinking of adding an accent wall, some clear dividers for my shoes and handbags and a furry rug. Stay tuned for more changes.

So tell me are you a DIYer or are you getting professional help? There’s no shame in either! I have messed up enough DIY projects to be discouraged, but then you come up with something like this walk-in and you add 10 more things to the DIY list lol.

Share with me your projects. Maybe we can inspire each other.

Love ya Mean it,
