7 Week Update: Quarantine Queenin'

There has definitely been a learning curve in finding the right balance as all sectors of our lives have now been combined into one for almost two months now.

My place of solace has become my workspace, gym, and pre-school.  It has been increasingly difficult to have alone time with hubs, as going out for “date night” has been re-invented into activities at home or walks around the neighborhood, that now include our sweet angel, Kinsley lol. The morning commute has been transformed into getting my daughter fed, settled and entertained before I start my work day at the kitchen table. Like everyone else, my new uniform has consisted mostly of sweats, most of which don’t match. Not that I’m minding that part too much, but I am looking forward to the days of dressing up again. Although our freedoms of walking out my office for Starbucks and drives into the city for date night have been paused, the joy of it all is that we are all healthy, happy and spending time together. I have really taken this time to take a step back and realize the small joys in life and remember it could always be worse!

We have managed to use this time to catch up on some shows in the DVR, clear out space in the house, donate items we are not using and reorganize room by room.

Here are the 10 things that have been keeping our attention:

Michael Jordan/Chicago Bulls series on ESPN… so good!

Perfecting the making of a margarita… EVERY WEEKEND WE GET BETTER!

Instagram live battles- our favorites have been Babyface vs. Teddy Riley and NEYO vs. Johnta Austin and we’re eagerly waiting for Erykah Badu vs. Jill Scott. I think I’m going with Jill.

Redecorating our master bedroom- post to follow.

I saw my girlfriend make ice cream from scratch, so I’m gonna try my hand at that one.

The wine consumption has increased these days and we have some new favorites, Josh (Cabernet Sauvignon 2017), Clos d’Argentine (Malbec Reserva 2013), and an oldie but goodie Meomi (Pinot Noir).

Baking- allllll the desserts and eating them, unfortunately for my summer body.

To combat all the dessert intake, Hubs and I have being doing different forms of exercise- zoom group classes, jump rope in the driveway, hikes, neighborhood walks and I’m trying to get my hands on a trampoline.

I am finding new ways to hide my online orders from hubs.

Not dreading Monday morning haul to work, the commute has gotten a lot shorter just going upstairs.

How are y’all holding up?!
