Y’all Ready for the Holidays?

The holidays are my time, like this is MY SEASON.

I get excited just writing that actually lol. Tis the season to turn up.

I mean be thankful, get together and celebrate each other and our blessings. It’s the season of full houses, large meals and football. This is the season when I can be a big old kid without judgment. But with the holidays comes an overwhelming number of events, activities preparation and duties and it starts earlier and earlier every year. Between the obligatory trip to the Pumpkin patch, Apple picking, Kinsley’s birthday, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Friendsgiving, by the time Christmas rolls around, honestly, I’m exhausted.

Still excited, but exhausted.

If you are like me and you ever get overwhelmed during the holiday season, here are my tips to keep yo ish together for these next two and some change months.

 1. Remember the reason for the season- whatever that means for you whether it’s your faith your family or getting extra days off, go back to that.

2. Breathe.

3. Take a step back and enjoy the family. Here is where you count your blessings. This year maybe more than ever before.

4. Lose the idea of perfection. Who cares if you baked or bought your turkey?!

5. Don’t compare. Not everyone is a cook and not everyone is crafty. Don’t let the masters of Pinterest shame you.

6. Give back. Now more than ever there are so many families in need. Find a charity to give back to and sow a seed.

7. Lastly, do something for you. FILL YOUR CUP!

When you take a step back mom, look at all the smiles and joy on everyone’s faces. That’s largely in part due to you, the sacrifices, the organizing and the spearheading you do for your family. Now go treat yourself to a pedicure, ALONE!

Tis the season!

Love ya Mean it,
